 Maybe you're being overly self-critical? I don't think your level couldn't help but rise, if as you say you've been learning the language for years on end. I would still advise you to take some time off, relax and notice the progress you are already making.

I think that some societal pressure is having an effect, among other things. You have to be constantly in progress, have constant results, constantly evolving and all that. Try to find a comfortable option and learn for your own pleasure when you have the desire. I like learning languages with promova app. Someone has other platforms that they find most convenient. In other words, there are so many options and possibilities now, so use them to your advantage.
